About Us

Old Bewick Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building situated in the unspoilt Beautiful countryside of North Northumberland. The imposing Georgian farmhouse was built around 1800 and has amazing panoramic views of the Cheviot Hills and Breamish Old Bewick FarmhouseValley.

In January 2005 your hosts Catherine and Barry Lister recognised the potential in Old Bewick Farmhouse and following years of neglect, embarked on a mission to restore the farmhouse and its grounds to its former impressive standing within the village.

Old BewickFollowing 18 months of hard work, blood, sweat and tears the farmhouse opened as a quality Bed and Breakfast for summer 2006. In addition to being a beautiful family home, we now have a 3 roomed family/best friend suite with ensuite and a double room with private bathroom to let.

The area of Old Bewick is famous amongst archaeologists for its Rock Art and 5000 year old Cup and Ring marks. Behind the farmhouse is Blawearie where one of the most important Bronze Age burial mounds in the county Viewsstands. The area is very popular with walkers, climbers and cyclists of all abilities.

If you are looking to visit the wonderful area of North Northumberland, Old Bewick Farmhouse is ideally situated 15 minutes drive from the historic town of Alnwick and 10 minutes drive from the ancient market town and parish of Wooler. We are located within easy reach of the Heritage Coast, Northumberland National park, and many other historical attractions.
